美国国家科学院开展阳光反射对气候干预的新研究

From August 8th to 14th, a research team of “Islands and Reefs in South China Sea and Surrounding Resource Information System” under the CASEarth 3-D Digital Ocean Project went to Cambodia for field investigations and studies on remote sensing of resources and environment.

On August 13th, the research team visited the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) to carry out exchanges on resource remote sensing and fully discussed the extraction of information from remote sensing technologies in relation to the rice in Cambodia and the Tonle Sap Wetland. This visit has strengthened the academic cooperation between Chinese and Cambodian researchers.

In addition, researchers also conducted a 7-day field trip, departed from Phnom Penh and visited Bodhisattva, Siem Reap, Preah Vihear, Kratie, and finally returned to Phnom Penh. Researchers travelled for more than 1400km during this trip and collected more than 1000 remote sensing sample datasets and 8 quadrats of artificial rubber forests, providing reliable field data for future studies on the resources and environment around the South China Sea and set a solid data foundation for the construction of an information system for the islands and reefs in South China Sea.
